Nel-Themaat
Dr. Nel-Themaat received her B.Sc. from Stellenbosch University in South Africa and her Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in 2006. Her graduate research was performed in collaboration with the Audubon Nature Institute’s Center for Research of Endangered Species in New Orleans and focused on the use of assisted reproductive technologies for conservation. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Genetics where she is studying reproductive development in transgenic mouse models. Dr. Nel-Themaat is also an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas in the Department of Biology.
