Can Clinical IVF personnel who have 20 years experience and are not an MD or PhD and/or are ELDs (ABB) qualify (grandfather clause) to sit in on the EMB exam?
I know some well known and respected IVF laboratory directors with extensive knowledge and expertise, who run some of the best programs in this country, are not MD or PhDs. Where does that leave them?
Individuals who are not PhD/MD can apply to take an EMB. Their applications will be reviewed on individual basis by Education and Practice committees, which will take into account multiple factors before rendering the decision.

Can non-US resident embryologists with PhD and more than 10 years of experience apply for certification? If so what are the requisites and when and where would be the exams for 2010?
Most of us have BS with 10 or more years of experience in Embryology lab, We are working for one of the top IVF programs in NY doing more than 1500 cycles a year including oocyte freezing ,PGD ,vitrification and extended culture,as well as more routine procedures like ICSI and assisted hatching. How do we meet the requirements for grandfathering? What documentation do you need?Please advise.
